Luke 12 Scripture Reading

Apr 1, 2025    Derrick Killebrew

Jesus tells His disciples not to worry about their lives—what they’ll eat, drink, or wear—because life is more than food and the body more than clothes. He points to how God provides for the ravens and clothes the wildflowers with beauty, reminding them that they are far more valuable to God. Worry, He says, is powerless to add a single hour to life. Instead of chasing after material things like the world does, Jesus urges them to seek God's kingdom first, and all their needs will be met. He finishes by encouraging generosity, telling them to store up treasure in heaven, not on earth, because “where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

It’s a call to faith, freedom from anxiety, and eternal perspective.
